Glazed Lemon Pound Cake

Ingredients:1 cup butter softened
2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 tea spoon baking soda
1 cup milk
Glaze:
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoon butter
Method:
1.Preheat oven at 350 F.Grease 12 cup fluted tube cake pan.
2.In a large bowl,beat 1 cup butter and 2 cup sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.Add eggs one at a time beating well and scraping bowl after each addition.Beat lemon peel.On low speed beat in flour,baking powder,salt,baking soda and milk until smooth,scraping bowl.
3.Pour batter evenly into pan.

4.Bake for 45-50 min or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.Cool upright
in pan 15 min.
5.Mix glaze ingredients.Heat over medium heat,stirring occasionally,until butter melts.
6.Place serving plate over cake pan.Turn plate and pan over.?Remove pan.Brush warm glaze over cake,allowing glaze to soak into cake.Cool completely about an hour or two.
